A Busy Spring Begins

A huge delay for this post after a busy March continued into what has been a busy April but more on the latter in the next post. After just one goal completion in February, March doubled the haul with a lot of progress made towards further goals.

As with most posts, the best place to start is on sporting terms and unlike the previous month, there was no Liverpool attendance win what was a mixed month for the Reds. Across five games, there were wins against Manchester City, Burnley and Swansea and a FA Cup draw with Blackburn ahead of a defeat to Manchester United to end the month.

Continuing on football, Skem United's fall from the top of the Evostik NPL continued in mixed form which included my attendance at the only home game of the month which saw a 3-0 win against Ramsbottom in glorious weather. April will see the final part of the season and a potential trophy in the Liverpool Senior Cup final.

The Super League and Academy seasons are well under way and across the month I attended eight games across two age ranges with a quintet of first team games starting with away defeats at Hull KR and Castleford. A home win against Hull was followed by another away loss at Leeds before a comfortable home win over Wakefield completed the month. The Academy began the month with home wins against Hull KR U19s and London U19s before ending the month with a defeat away to St Helens U19s.

The continued success of  'Simon's Away Days' and the continuing run of 'Out and About', which has reached 10 weeks of content coupled with has seen a wide boost in my You Tube subscribers and view count. My coverage on Serious About Rugby League continued steadily but near the end of the month, my site content faltered after being offered a place on the Admin team across the numerous social media outlets. This led to becoming a bigger part of the site team and gave me the chance to provide match updates and comments to a wider audience then my personal one.

My rugby league travels have certainly boosted me since the start in February and although my mixed sleeping pattern has continued, there has been some improvement with long away trips resulting in dropping off to sleep within an hour of coming home.boost I said I needed in last month's post and the questionable sleeping pattern also mentioned has improved with away trips resulting in an early night after arriving home sometimes the following day.

Gaming wise, the month has been a stunning success as not only did I resume the 100+ unlocks streak in full months but reached a haul of 151 with 110 on the Xbox One itself. Two completions came in the form of Forza Horizon- Fast and Furious on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 which led to the 27th becoming my best gaming day of all time by smashing the three records of unlocks, gamerscore and TA points. The day saw 48 achievements for a total of 1870 G and 2111 TA points.

Ironically the 27th of March as a date is my most successful with this year adding to the huge success of the 2011 triple record so the 27th March 2016 is surely written to be the next best ever day but only time will tell.

As this post comes at the end of April, the next one will hopefully follow in the next few days so rather then outline future events which at the time of writing have already happened, I will list what will be featured in the post.
  • Rugby wise, the Good Friday derby against St Helens followed by a hectic trip to Salford with home games against Catalans and Warrington ahead of a famous trip up to Wakefield to end the month.
  • Academy games see an away trip to St Helens with the 16s ahead of home ties against Widnes and Huddersfield with the 19s hosting Catalans and Castleford.
  •  A second visit to Anfield this year for the visit of Newcastle with the a triple header at Skem to end the season with league games against FC United and Stourbridge sandwiching a successful cup final against AFC Liverpool.
