March began with a nice holiday to Blackpool for four days with my lovely girlfriend Letitia and on the first day we travelled from Wigan via Preston to Blackpool South in glorious sunshine and checked in at the Morrisy Hotel with a lovely welcome and a room with a great view of the sea front.
We took a walk up to the shops and did some shopping then had a chippy tea at the C Fresh chip shop on Bloomfield Road, and we both agreed it was the best we had been to in our lives and then settled in watching TV and cuddling up for the rest of the night.
Saturday morning was an early wake up for a smashing full English breakfast courtesy of the hotel and set us up for a long day which began with a tour of the Blackpool Tower 4D Experience which saw us take in a a superb 4D film showcasing the attractions of Blackpool then the lift up to the top where we explored 360° views from 400ft up.
Following that we went around the Tower Dungeon which was really good and terrified Letitia so much that she clung to my arm for most of the tour and at the end we rode the Extremis ride which is a plunging drop in relation to the Pendle Witch trials.
Next we strolled along the Comedy Carpet which is a collection of jokes and quotes by famous comedians both old and new with 'It's a Cracker and Ooh Betty!' two classic examples of laughter over the years.
We went over to Coral Island arcade which was our second home for the weekend and in one sitting I won 10 key-rings from a single 2p machine and then we toured Madame Tussauds and got some really good pictures and then we watched Wigan v Liverpool online in our hotel and we got KFC for tea before watching Armageddon while cuddled up for the night.
Sunday meant another great breakfast and then we went to the South Pier to try out the arcade and had McDonalds for dinner before going around the Sea Life centre and Coral Island where we won 282 prize tickets which we exchanged for a mini snooker game and giant playing cards set.
As it was our last night we made the most of it and had a lot of fun in the room if you know what I mean before going to sleep cuddled in each others arms. Monday meant we were going home but after a really great holiday which we will never forget and that has allowed us to grow closer and very comfortable with each other.
So we went to the train station and caught the train to Preston then back home via Wigan and relaxed before parting ways for a few hours and then spending the evening together going through pictures and videos from an amazing trip which we hope to do again in the future be it Blackpool or somewhere else.
